Despacito is a 2017 song that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the most popular streamed song worldwide within just six months. The combination of reggaeton and pop music not only brought an interest to this genre but as well to Latin music generally. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs which were Spanish generally, and four songs in the year the year 2016. In the midst of the Despacito's popularity in 2017, there were 19 mostly Spanish songs that were included in the top 100. Then in 2020 it was 41. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in the year. Then, numerous pop stars began to collaborate with reggaeton artists. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018), and Madonna worked with Maluma for the release of Medellin. The mainstreaming of reggaeton was an issue for certain performers in 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, were keen to keep the look. The musician incorporated electronic dance music and others into his music.
