
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenezon September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. In Mexico she started her career with the role of Teresa in the television series (1989-1991) and El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she received an Ariel Award. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were but a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also directed, made her the first Mexican actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Later on, Hayek focused more on producing while starring in action-oriented films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico
