Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 - - May 7, 2010 in the USA) was an American singer and actress. Her appearances in films were during the 1940s and 1950s[2] as well as on television in the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara was her name professionally. She received an agreement with Columbia Pictures [citation needed.] and gained experience working with the studio's comedy shorts as well as "B" features. The title was later changed to Adele Mara. Mara started her professional career as a receptionist the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks as well as Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters as characters played by Rita Hayworth in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks is in the role of Alias Boston Blackie (1942), as the sister to a wrongfully accused and escaped convict. When her Columbia contract ended after which she moved to Republic Pictures where she was a regular in outdoor adventures and westerns. She starred in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar's love interestis played by John Wayne, California Passage, and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
